A pear-cut diamond, sometimes called a teardrop, is one of the more romantic shapes in fine jewelry, combining the brilliance of a round on one end with the elegance of a tapered point on the other. Solitaire Pear sets that stone with the point facing up toward the fingertip, the traditional and most flattering orientation, where the elongated shape draws the eye upward and lengthens the appearance of the finger.
Five prongs hold the diamond securely. A single prong protects the delicate point at the top, and four prongs anchor the rounded base, two on each side of the stone. The detail that distinguishes this ring from a plain solitaire lives just below the diamond, a decorative openwork basket visible from the profile view, with subtle filigree-style shaping that adds craftsmanship without crowding the silhouette from above.

A note on sizing: pricing may also vary with ring size, as gold weight changes accordingly. For designs with side stones, the total number of stones and total carat weight may vary based on size. Please also note that, depending on the style, some rings cannot be resized after they’re made. Your designer will walk you through this before the design is finalized.
