Marquise Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring

About This Design
The marquise cut, sometimes called a navette, is one of the most distinctive diamond shapes in fine jewelry. Long, pointed at both ends, with brilliant faceting that maximizes the perception of size, it has the visual presence of a much larger stone. Solitaire Marquise places that cut in an east-west orientation, lying horizontally across the finger, which gives the ring an instantly modern character that traditional north-south marquise settings don’t achieve.
Six prongs hold the diamond securely. Single prongs protect the delicate points at each end of the stone, where chips are most likely to occur, and paired prongs anchor the wider center sections of the cut. The shank itself stays clean and polished, no pavé, no halo, no decorative detailing, allowing the stone to be the entire design statement.
It’s a true minimalist solitaire. The marquise cut does the work, the band gets out of the way.
Customize This Ring
Every Solitaire Marquise is made to order, so the design can be tailored to you. With this design, you can:
- Switch the center stone orientation from east-west to a traditional north-south placement
- Adjust the prong configuration, the standard six-prong setup, or a four-prong setting for a slightly different profile
- Add pavé detailing along the band if you want extra sparkle without compromising the minimalist character
- Add a hidden halo beneath the marquise center for an unexpected detail visible only from the profile
- Choose between lab-grown diamond or natural diamonds
- Adjust the center stone size, or switch to a different shape entirely
- Select your preferred metal: white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum
- Adjust the prong style or band width

Pricing & Timeline
Because every piece is handcrafted to your specifications, pricing depends on your chosen diamond, metal, and design details. Your consultation will include a clear, itemized quote before you commit.
Production typically takes 4 to 6 weeks after final approval.
A note on sizing: pricing may also vary with ring size, as gold weight changes accordingly. For designs with side stones, the total number of stones and total carat weight may vary based on size. Please also note that, depending on the style, some rings cannot be resized after they’re made. Your designer will walk you through this before the design is finalized.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the marquise cut considered a “size-amplifying” shape? Marquise diamonds have a larger surface area per carat than rounds or cushions, meaning they appear visually larger from the top view than a round of the same carat weight. The elongated shape also makes the finger appear longer.
Are the points of a marquise diamond fragile? The points are the most delicate parts of the stone and the most likely place for a chip if the ring is struck. The single prongs at each end of Solitaire Marquise are specifically designed to protect those points.
Is east-west or north-south orientation more popular? Traditionally, marquise diamonds were always set north-south. East-west has gained popularity in the last decade as a more modern alternative, particularly among buyers looking for something distinctive. Both remain viable choices.
Do you offer lab-grown diamonds? Yes, we work with both lab-grown and natural diamonds. Your designer can walk you through the differences in price, sourcing, and certification to help you choose what fits your priorities.
How long does it take to make Solitaire Marquise? Typically 4 to 6 weeks from final design approval to delivery.
