Oval Diamond Solitaire Ring with Claw Prongs
About This Design
This version of Solitaire Oval is a study in restraint. The center diamond, an elongated oval cut set vertically along the finger, is held by four sculptural claw-style prongs that grip the stone at the compass points. The prong design itself is part of the appeal, slightly more shaped and dimensional than a standard prong, adding a quiet element of craftsmanship to what otherwise reads as a perfectly clean solitaire.
A subtle hidden halo sits beneath the center stone, with a delicate row of pavé diamonds tucked tight against the base of the oval. From above, the ring reads as an unadorned solitaire, the stone is the only thing the eye registers. From the profile, the halo reveals itself as a small flash of additional brilliance, the kind of detail that only the wearer and people who look closely will notice.
The shank tapers gently from the shoulders down to a slim, refined width at the back of the finger, giving the ring a sense of lightness and making the center stone appear larger than its proportions alone would suggest. Smooth, polished, and undecorated, the band serves the diamond rather than competing with it.
It’s a ring for someone whose taste runs to quiet luxury, the kind of design where every element has been considered, but nothing announces itself.

Pricing & Timeline
Because every piece is handcrafted to your specifications, pricing depends on your chosen diamond, metal, and design details. Your consultation will include a clear, itemized quote before you commit.
Production typically takes 4 to 6 weeks after final approval.
A note on sizing: pricing may also vary with ring size, as gold weight changes accordingly. For designs with side stones, the total number of stones and total carat weight may vary based on size. Please also note that, depending on the style, some rings cannot be resized after they’re made. Your designer will walk you through this before the design is finalized.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the benefit of claw-style prongs over straight prongs? Claw-style prongs are slightly more dimensional and sculptural than standard straight prongs, giving the setting a more refined, considered feel. Functionally, both styles hold the stone securely. The choice is largely aesthetic, claw prongs read as more crafted, straight prongs read as cleaner and more classical.
Will the hidden halo be visible from the top? No, that’s the point. A hidden halo is positioned beneath the center stone, just at the base where the diamond meets the prongs, so it’s only visible from the profile. From above, the ring reads as a pure unadorned solitaire.
Is the tapered band more delicate than a uniform band? The band tapers gradually, so the back of the finger sits with a slimmer band while the shoulders where the prongs meet the shank stay substantial enough to support the center stone properly. It feels lighter on the finger than a uniform band of the same average width.
Do you offer lab-grown diamonds? Yes, we work with both lab-grown and natural diamonds. Your designer can walk you through the differences in price, sourcing, and certification to help you choose what fits your priorities.
How long does it take to make Solitaire Oval? Typically 4 to 6 weeks from final design approval to delivery.
